CAW reaches deal with Coast Mountain bus company

Two locals with the Canadian Autoworkers union, 111 and 2200, have reached tentative three year deals with Coast Mountain bus company. Over 47 hundred operators, mechanics, maintenance and Seabus workers will vote on the deal in early February. The union executive is recommending ratification of the deal. Snowboarder dies on Whistler Mountain after hitting head

A day of snowboarding on Whistler Mountain has ended in death. Kinder Morgan increases scope of Trans Mountain proposal

The proposal to expand the Trans Mountain Pipeline, which ends in Bunaby, has gotten bigger.  Kinder Morgan says it has now signed up 13 canadian companies who want to ship oil along its pipeline and onto Asia-Pacific markets.  Officials say that means its planned capacity has grown from 750-thousand barrels a day to 890-thousand barrels. … [Read more...]

There could be a ray of hope in the search for a snowboarder on the Northshore mountains. North Shore Search and Rescue is reporting they may have  found tracks of the man missing since late Sunday, and are sending in rescuers to investigate.
