Son charged with murdering father in Nanaimo

A murder charge has been approved in the death of a 69-year old Nanaimo man and  the 27-year old suspect is the victim's son. RCMP in Nanaimo are investigating a Sunday afternoon murder. A man was found stabbed at a housing complex at 1:45pm and he was rushed to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Cocaine, $10,000 cash missing from Nanaimo RCMP

Mounties in Nanaimo have revealed that drugs and a stack of cash have been missing from an evidence locker since last December. The detachment's chief superintendant, Norm McPhail, says 0.3 grams of cocaine and $ 10,000 disappeared as they were being moved to permanent storage.
