Power outage hits thousands in Richmond

A massive power outage has hit several parts of Richmond.  As of 5:30 p.m., about 25,000 BC Hydro customers are without electricity because of a problem at a Hydro substation. Power outages in Vancouver’s False Creek area

Nearly a thousand people in Vancouver are in the dark this hour, because a bird flew into power lines. According to B.C. Hydro, most of the affected customers are in the area between just west of the Cambie Bridge and Quebec Street, and about 5th Avenue all the way to False Creek.
