Awards: Independent Spirit Nominees

New effort to protect spirit bears

A conservation group has bought the hunting rights to a big chunk of the great bear rainforest in an effort to protect BC's rare spirit bears. The Raincoast Conservation Foundation has purchased a 3,500 square kilometre hunting licence. Community centres bring London 2012 spirit to Vancouver

Vancouver community centres are bringing the Olympic spirit from London here. Kerrisdale, Kitsilano, Kensington and Douglas Park are all showing the Games on TV through to the end of the events. Human remains in Pacific Spirit Park identified

  The BC Coroner's service has identified the human remains found in the woods at Pacific Spirit Park yesterday. The remains have been identified as those of 47 year old Violet Puskas.
