Japan will help pay for BC tsunami clean-up

BC getting one million dollars from Japan to help with the clean up of tsunami debris on our coast. The announcement comes just over two years after Japan was devastated by a strong earthquake and tsunami. Province modifies tsunami notification process

The province is changing how it alerts communities to tsunami threats. Tofino mayor says delay in nofication from Province led to District’s decision to activate tsunami sirens, phone notifications

Earthquake hits, tsunami warning in effect for parts of BC

A major earthquake -- and now a significant aftershock have hit the BC coast. The province has laid out the next phase of its plan to deal with incoming debris from the Japanese tsunami.
