Washington shaken up by small earthquake

A small surface earthquake rattled Washington State just after 12:30 Saturday morning. The US Geological Survey initially said the quake centered 17 kilometers from Thorp, and 145 kilometers away from Seattle was a magnitude of 3.3. They have since revised that to magnitude 1.8. A Search and Rescue team has reached four skiers who were stranded by a small avalanche Tuesday on Vancouver Island's Mt. Washington.     RCMP Cpl. Darren Lagan says all of the skiers are safe. Backcountry skiiers caught in Mount Washington avalanche are OK

Mounties and Comox Search and Rescue crews are on their way to rescue four backcountry skiers who were caught in an avalanche in Strathcona Park on Vancouver Asland today.
