The Craziest Online Careers

In this current economic climate, finding any job at all can be difficult. We all know how many doors the internet can open, but the majority of us will shy away from even trying to open any of them. It’s a vast, infinite landscape of people vying for attention at the front of the mix, much like any industry. It opens more doors than ever, but it opens these doors to everyone, so it’s understandable that people would dismiss the online business model as overwhelming and impossible to make work.

Of course, you might not want to be so hasty to dismiss the internet-based world as the future of your working career. For those with the right mindset and who follow the right route, there are numerous different ways to build yourself a self-started business or simply a career through bizarre or surprising mediums. If you’re intrigued by the prospect of a work-at-home online career, here are just some of the opportunities waiting out there.

Copywriting.

Writing copy is one of the oldest professions there is, but the landscape of this industry and the type of “copy” that professionals write has changed phenomenally over the past decade alone. Marketing is the main industry in which creative types write to their heart’s content, but the online world has changed the world of marketing and different demands must be made of the writers in this industry. In many cases, if you’re a freelancer, you can write from the comfort of your own home using the beauty of the internet.

Additionally, copywriting is arguably more enjoyable that’s it ever been before, as businesses are paying writers to simply manage their social media accounts. Essentially, if you love Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, you could earn a comfy salary and build a career out of simply writing statuses, promoting services and keeping on top of growing the company’s brand and image. You’d be doing everything you do with your personal account, except you’d be making a living out of it. There are worse jobs.

Betting.

People have gambled and betted their money since ancient times. If there’s any sort of competition or a high-stakes game to be played, there are always people willing to task the risk of sacrificing their money for more money. Of course, whilst it is luck in many instances, there are avenues which can lead to a full-blown career. Gambling sites such as the one here give you a little bit of money to get you started. For those who can’t mentally invest into the game this may be a risky route, but once you understand the mathematical components lurking behind the aspects of card games such as poker, you could fashion yourself a living out of something which is, for most people, simply recreational.

Becoming somebody’s friend.

Perhaps the weirdest one on the list, but it’s entirely legitimate, and it solely demands a friend-based relationship. There are sites out there wherein you can build a career out of making friends. It’s insane, but there are people willing to pay money to spend an hour simply talking to someone about likes, dislikes and the things they do on an average weekend. To really boil this down, you could make a living out of socialising with people, and that might be a lot more fun than other online-based careers which leave you a little homebound.
