You can’t keep a good S.H.I.E.L.D. agent down it seems. Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson, the key bridging character in the various Marvel Phase One films, is coming to television.
Gregg himself made an appearance at the Marvel TV panel at New York Comic Con over the weekend where a video conference call with Joss Whedon confirmed that Coulson will return and lead the cast of characters in the upcoming “S.H.I.E.L.D.” TV series on ABC says Screen Crush.
How the character’s death in Marvel’s “The Avengers” will be dealt with in the series is unknown, and those involved are keeping that angle secret for now (while enjoying the inevitable online speculation about it).
