Akinnuoye-Agbaje To Play Thor’s ‘Kurse’

“Lost” and “G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra” star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is set to play the secondary villain in the Alan Taylor-directed upcoming sequel “Thor: The Dark World” at Marvel Studios and Disney says Variety.

Christopher Eccleston stars as the primary villain Malekith the Accursed, the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim.

Agbaje will play Algrim the Strong the most powerful of the Dark Elves who was coerced by Malekith into fighting Thor. Malekith tries to kill them both and while Thor escapes, Algrim falls into lava presumed dead.

Thanks to some enchanted armor though, a now amnesiac Algrim has survived. With his armour now fused to his skin, he becomes a powerful being called Kurse who is twice as strong as Thor.

Shooting on the sequel is taking place in London.
