Bradley Cooper has emerged as the favourite to star in Steven Soderbergh’s spy action-comedy feature adaptation of classic TV series “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” reports Variety.
The original 60’s show and the upcoming film (also set in the 60’s) follows the exploits of two secret agents, American Napoleon Solo and Russian Ilya Kuryakin who work for a fictitious secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E.
Cooper currently has an offer to play Napoleon and his agency worked hard to position him for the role so he’s likely to accept. George Clooney was previously linked to the role.
Cooper is finishing up “The Silver Linings Playbook”, the segues into “Paradise Lost” in January before moving onto “U.N.C.L.E.” in March/April. David Dobkin, Jeff Kleeman and John Davis are producing.
