Asa Butterfield (“Hugo,” BBC’s “Merlin”) has been offered the lead role in Gavin Hood’s film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s classic 1985 sci-fi novel “Ender’s Game” reports Deadline.
The story is set in a future where Earth is at war with aliens, and children are being trained as soldiers using an advanced simulation game. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are producing.
Meanwhile “We Need to Talk About Kevin” actor Ezra Miller has revealed he will not be starring in Jaume Collet-Serra’s live-action “Akira” remake says The Press Association.
Miller has denied online reports that he had been in talks to play Tetsuo which Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund are also linked to.
Miller says “It’s not true. That, I can assure you, will not be a reality. It’s a beautiful Japanese epic and I think it’ll be a very entertaining, fun film, but no, it’s not my next move.”
