Casting: Hemsworth, Weisz, Wiig, Owen

Both Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway have reportedly entered talks to join Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi tentpole “Robopocalypse.” Shooting will take place in Montreal early next year.

The story features robots and their artificial intelligence is bound to become a reality. In order to protect the Earth’s biodiversity, Archos, an extremely intelligent robot who attained self-awareness, is set to annihilate human civilization. [Source: Business Times]

Maps to the Stars
Rachel Weisz has joined Robert Pattinson and Viggo Mortensen in David Cronenberg’s $ 15 million indie drama “Map to the Stars”. Bruce Wagner penned the script and shooting will kick off in Los Angeles in May.

Penned by Bruce Wagner, the film is said to examine Hollywood culture but is NOT a straight up satire like “L.A. Story” or “The Player”. [Source: Allocine]

The Skeleton Twins
Former SNL cast mates Kristen Wiig (“Bridesmaids”) and Bill Hader (“Superbad”) are set to re-team on Craig Johnson’s indie comedy “The Skeleton Twins” for Duplass Brothers Prods. and Venture Forth.

The pair will play estranged twins who coincidentally cheat death on the same day, prompting them to reunite and confront how their lives went so wrong. [Source: Variety]

Words and Pictures
Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche are set to star in Fred Schepisi’s New England prep school-set romantic drama “Words and Pictures”. Shooting kicks off in March.

Gerald DiPego penned the script in which Owen stars as a charismatic English teacher and Binoche as an intensely private art instructor who falls in love with him. [Source: UPI]
