Casting News: Grant, Reddick, Lohan

Doctor Who
Richard E. Grant and Tom Ward are set to star in this year’s Christmas special of BBC’s “Doctor Who” which begins filming this week.

Grant has previously played ‘The Doctor’ twice but not on the official show – once in an online animated series and once in a 1996 Comic Relief sketch. [Source: The BBC]

White House Down
Lance Reddick (“Fringe”) is in negotiations to join the cast of Roland Emmerich’s action drama “White House Down” at Sony Pictures. Reddick will play Colonel Janowitz, who serves as the handle for the Speaker of the House (Richard Jenkins).

Channing Tatum stars as a Secret Service agent who leaps into action to defend the U.S. president when a paramilitary group storms the White House. [Source: Variety]

Scary Movie 5
Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen are signed on for “Scary Movie 5” at Dimension Films. It’s unknown which character Lohan may play.

Sheen previously played Tom Logan in the third and fourth film. Malcolm Lee and David Zucker will direct. [Source: E! News]
