In an astute choice, Chris Pratt has been selected to play Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” at Marvel Studios.
The character is very likely to be the lead role in the film. In the comic, the young man and former astronaut learns his father was from outer space. He is soon drawn into an intergalactic conflict that eventually leads to him assembling a rather unique team.
Pratt is a regular on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”, and has delivered memorable supporting turns in films like “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Moneyball,” “Wanted,” “Jennifer’s Body” and “The Five-Year Engagement.”
‘Guardians’ is targeting an August 1st 2014 release.
