“Chronicle” Helmer Adapting “Colossus”

One of the most acclaimed and beloved games that appeared on the PlayStation 2 (and remastered last year for the PS3) may be getting a film adaptation.

“Chronicle” director Josh Trank has approached Sony Pictures about the idea of adapting Team ICO’s 2005 video game “Shadow Of The Colossus” into a feature says Deadline.

Set in a mystical and forbidden land, the story follows a hero who wants to raise his beloved from the dead. The price though requires him to kill 16 giant creatures known as the Colossi, and along the way he begins to worry he’s been tricked.

Kevin Misher is producing the project and he and Trank are currently seeking scribes for the project. Trank has already been linked to several other projects including Warner Bros’ The Red Star and Sony’s Venom.
