A news conference was held in Pittsburgh this week to mark the commencement of shooting on “The Dark Knight Rises” in the city.
Both director Chris Nolan and actor Christian Bale were on hand and confirmed that shooting around the city will take place from Wednesdays to Sundays over the next few weeks to try and minimise disruption.
Nolan said the architecture and scale of the city were a big factor in the city’s selection. Bale surprised with his appearance, sporting long hair and a beard.
Filming is underway at Rock Airport at present according to On Location Vacations. Shooting will continue in and around the city throughout August.
