Ridley Scott has now committed to direct and has been talking with Michael Fassbender (“Shame,” “X-Men: First Class”) about starring in “The Counselor”, a film based on author Cormac McCarthy’s first original spec screenplay says Deadline.
A formal offer hasn’t been made, but it’s looking likely that Fassbender would play a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe into the drug business without getting sucked into it. It’s a bad decision and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation.
Fassbender recently finished working with Scott on the sci-fi saga “Prometheus”. Scott is looking at a May 1st start of filming date for ‘Counselor’ and is already talking with a number of high-profile actors for supporting roles. Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz are producing.
