“House” Axed, “Terra Nova” Lives

Fox has officially confirmed that it’s cancelling veteran medical drama “House” which will end when its current eighth season wraps in May says TV By the Numbers.

The network has made this announcement early which gives show runner David Shore a chance to give the series and its characters a proper ending. Due to various contract arrangements, the expenses involved and sagging ratings – those involved have confirmed that there’s zero chance another network will pick it up despite the show’s profitability for Universal.

“House” was one of three shows at the network “on the bubble” as it were, the other two being freshman “Terra Nova” and acclaimed cult fave but low-rater “Fringe”. With ‘House’ gone, the chances of ‘Nova’ getting a renewal suddenly seem more likely.
