“Little Shop of Horrors” Remade Again

Update: Heat Vision adds that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is helping develop the project with an eye to starring as Seymour.

“Glee” co-producer and “Carrie” remake scribe Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is in early negotiations to pen the latest incarnation of “Little Shop of Horrors” for Warner Bros. Pictures reports Variety.

Roger Corman helmed the original 1960 B-movie, which then became an Ashman/Menken off-Broadway musical in 1982. Frank Oz adapted said musical into a film in 1986 starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin.

The story follows a mild-mannered young man who discovers a carnivorous plant which grows when fed human blood. This version is expected to take a whole new direction to the previous incarnations. Marc Platt will produce.
