“Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes is bringing his deft hand at period drama to NBC.
Fellowes is developing “The Gilded Age” for the American broadcaster, a show examining how giants of industry made their fortunes in late 19th century New York.
“This was a vivid time, with dizzying, brilliant ascents and calamitous falls, of record-breaking ostentation and savage rivalry; a time when money was king” says Fellowes.
Fellowes will continue his work on ‘Downton’ while simultaneously executive producing “The Gilded Age.”
