New Les Mis, Knight, Frankenstein Dates

A couple of key release date shifts today. The most notable is that Universal has pushed back its film adaptation of the stage musical “Les Miserables” by almost two weeks. It’ll now bow on Christmas Day, a more traditional weekend for musical releases.

Lionsgate has pushed back Stuart Beattie’s comic book adaptation “I, Frankenstein” starring Aaron Eckhart by seven months. Originally slated for February 22nd next year, it’ll now bow September 13th 2013.

With that film now moved, Summit Entertainment has swooped in and filled the February 22nd slot with its Dwayne Johnson-led action flick “Snitch”.

Screen Gems has shifted around two of its films – the Josh Holloway-led 3D dance film “Battle of the Year” has been pushed back a whopping eight months from a bow this coming January to a September 13th 2013 release. They’ve also announced an October 18th 2013 release for the Idris Elba-led thriller “No Good Deed”.

Finally, Warner Bros. Pictures has moved up the DVD & Blu-ray release of “The Dark Knight Rises” by a few days. The discs will now hit stores on December 3rd.
