Reid Carolin Adapting Koryta’s “Prophet”

“Magic Mike” producer Nick Wechsler and scribe Reid Carolin are re-teaming on a film adaptation of Michael Koryta’s upcoming novel “The Prophet” says Deadline.

The story follows two distant brothers in a small Ohio town whose torment over the murder of their sister in their teens is compounded when another teen girl is killed. One of the brothers is determined to avenge that killing, even if it means committing murder himself.

Wechsler hasn’t yet setup financing for the film. The project is the third film based on a Koryta novel in the works, the others being “So Cold The River” at New Regency and “The Cypress House” which Chris Columbus is planning to direct.
