Michelle Rodriguez loves those sequels, especially the ones where she comes back from the dead.
Variety confirms that the actress is set to reprise her role as Letty Ortiz in “Fast Six”, and the role of Luz in Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills”.
Rodriguez’s ‘Fast’ franchise character seemingly met her demise during the first act of the fourth film “Fast and Furious”. As her apparent death was off screen the possibility of her return was always there.
A post-credits bit in last year’s “Fast Five” saw Eva Mendes’ character holding a file which showed the character was still very much alive.
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson are all said to be returning for ‘Six’ which begins shooting in Europe in June.
Meanwhile filming on ‘Machete’ is about to begin in Texas with Danny Trejo’s Machete teaming with the U.S. Government to take on a drug cartel and a villain seeking world domination with a satellite weapon.
Rodriguez appears in “Resident Evil: Retribution” later this year, reprising her role from the first ‘Resident’ in which she seemingly died.
