Satan Endorses “Two and a Half Men”?

Another year, another mini-meltdown from a star of CBS’ sitcom “Two and a Half Men” though in a very different way to what happened with Charlie Sheen.

The onscreen future of actor Angus T. Jones, the 19-year-old cast member, is in limbo right now following the release of a 14-minute YouTube video in which he slams the program as “filth”.

The video is an interview with the star for the Forerunner Christian Church. Jones, who earns $ 350,000 an episode for the series, turned to religion in recent years and claims the show contradicts his deep Christian values. In the video he says:

“If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I’m on Two and a Half Men and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television and especially with what you watch on television … it’s bad news.”

“If I am doing any harm, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be contributing to the enemy’s plan … You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the bible says and being on that television show.”

The weirdly militant wording there, “the enemy’s plan,” along with the overall tone has unsurprisingly raised eyebrows. The show has been labelled trash by many a critic, nevertheless it remains popular and one of CBS’ biggest hits.

The show’s producers have reportedly all seen the video, but things are complicated as Jones hasn’t been fired and hasn’t quit the show as yet. Showrunner Chuck Lorre reportedly hasn’t indicated as yet how things will proceed.
