“The Place Beyond the Pines” scribe Ben Coccio has been hired to pen the adaptation of Michael Koryta’s 2010 novel “So Cold the River” at New Regency. Kevin Misher and Scott Silver will produce.
The story follows a documentary filmmaker hired by a woman for a project about her elderly billionaire father-in-law. Once the director arrives in the small Indiana town, he becomes plagued with haunting visions. [Source: Heat Vision]
Monster X
Benderspink has optioned the horror ensemble screenplay “Monster X” which Ahmet Zappa co-wrote with an unnamed writer. Chris Bender, J.C. Spink, and Jake Weiner will produce.
The story features classic creatures such as Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, Mr. Hyde, and seven others who join forces to take on a massive threat to humanity. [Source: THR]
