With 2013 now underway, a couple of key release date and title changes have taken place over at the various divisions of Sony Pictures.
Screen Gems has been pushed back Kimberly Peirce’s “Carrie” remake, starring Julianne Moore and Chloë Grace Moretz, a full seven months from March 15th to October 18th.
As a result, TriStar have opted to slot in Brad Anderson’s “The Hive” into the March 15th slot. At the same time they’ve renamed the film “The Call,” which more aptly suits a movie about an emergency operator (Halle Berry) receiving a call from a kidnapped girl.
With “Carrie” now on October 18th, Screen Gems has removed its Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson-led thriller “No Good Deed” from that date and bumped it to January 17th 2014.
Finally, Sony had set George Clooney’s massive ensemble post-WW2 stolen art drama “Monuments Men” for a December 18th release.
