The 2013 Oscar Winners

The 85th Annual Academy Award winners have been announced with “Life of Pi,” “Argo” and “Les Miserables” dominating the awards.

“Argo” took the top honor of Best Picture along with screenplay and editing. “Life of Pi” took Best Director along with cinematography, score and visual effects.

Meanwhile, “Les Miserables” won for Best Supporting Actress, make-up, sound mixing. Also performing well were “Skyfall,” “Lincoln” and “Django Unchained” with two wins each.

There were only a few unexpected wins. Ang Lee taking the director award for “Life of Pi” catching everyone off guard, but it is a very welcome surprise.

Another was Pixar’s poorly received “Brave” beating out all four other (and frankly far better) nominees in the Best Animated Feature category.
