“The Raid” Sequel Begins Production

Welsh filmmaker Gareth Evans surprised everyone back in late 2011 when the Indonesian martial arts movie “The Raid” premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to rave reviews.

Now, production has begun on the nearly fourth month shoot on the upcoming follow-up entry with Iko Uwais reprising his role as Rama.

The first stills have arrived, along with a couple of scarce plot details. Taking place two hours after the events of the first film, Rama sets out to expose the corruption within the police as he infiltrates a ruthless crime syndicate.

Alex Abbad, Julie Estelle, Roy Marten, Tio Pakusadewo and Putra Arifin Scheunamann also star.
