Scott Waugh (“Act of Valor”) is in talks to direct the film adaptation of the video game franchise “Need for Speed” for DreamWorks Pictures says Variety.
“Real Steel” scribes George and John Gatins developed a pitch for Electronic Arts with the former providing the screenplay.
‘Need’ has the advantage of in-built franchise name recognition. In total over 100 million copies have been sold of the eighteen games in the series, making it the most successful racing video game series in the world.
