Aussie actresses Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska are set to head up the cast of a new adaptation of “Talented Mr. Ripley” author Patricia Highsmith’s “Carol” (aka “The Price of Salt”) says Deadline.
Phyllis Nagy adapted the tale about the complex relationship between two very different women in 1950s New York. One is a twenty-something girl working in a department store who dreams of a more fulfilling life, the other is a wife trapped in a loveless marriage.
John Crowley (“Boy A”) is helming the film which begins shooting February next year in London and New York.
