The Vancouver Kidney Walk, now running for its 4th year in a row, will take place this year at Athletes’ Village Plaza on False Creek on the afternoon of Sunday August 26th.
The Walk aims to raise $ 60,000 for the Kidney Foundation’s programs and will include options for participating in a 2.5km walk, a 5km fun run from Athletes’ Village Plaza towards Granville Island, be inclusive to handi-capable participants, include dragonboats paddling 2.5 km alongside in False Creek, and for the first time in BC the option to ride along 5km for cyclists (keep checking back for updates on the new cycling component)! There will also be live music, food, entertainment, swordfighting demonstrations by the Academie Duello, bagpipers, a silent auction, and opportunities for participants to sign up and paddle the Walk in a dragonboat aboard one of our vessels generously donated by Dragon Zone BC, each chaperoned by experienced paddlers from Team O2P.
