LAN Institute proudly presents one of Canada’s most experienced practitioner, writers and teacher of public policy advocacy, Sean Moore.


Hosted by Sean Moore and Al Etmanski, the seminar is designed for anyone interested in the changing face of policy including government, members of boards, Executive Directors, and staff of organizations that have, (or are considering), public-policy advocacy (including lobbying) as an important part of the organization’s work. The day will be focused on the internal governance and management perspective of how associations, social venture organizations and Non-profits manage their relationships with government and policy makers.

Presenters:

sean.gifSean Moore is one of Canada’s most experienced practitioners, writers and teachers on public-policy advocacy. He has more than 30 years experience in public policy and advocacy (i.e. lobbying) related to local, provincial/state and federal government affairs. He also designs and conducts professional development training in advocacy for foundations, NGOs, industry and professional associations.  He has taught graduate courses on public-policy advocacy at Carleton University School of Public Policy and Administration and at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management Executive MBA program.

 

 

 

al.jpgAl Etmanski has been a leading advocate for people with disabilities and their families in Canada for more than two decades. He is widely recognized as a visionary thinker in areas of social policy,community development and individualizing services for people with disabilities. Al is an author, advocacy consultant and social inventor who specializes in finding innivative, non-govermental solutions to social problems.
