Public Records is a Vancouver based nonprofit community centred around an online network for independent music. At this event we will be celebrating the Launch of our Beta version of the network, surrounded by local artists, fans, and industry professionals. The event will be featuring local talent: Guilty About Girls, Behind Sapphire and Jordan Klassen.
The Public Records network will provide unparalleled functionality for bands, fans, venues, and industry professionals. Our aim is to fill the traditional roles of a record label using non-traditional means: production, through artists grants and recording support; distribution, through our online network; and promotion, through community-based tour, events, and festivals. Unlike other platforms, all profits generated through advertising revenues through the site are reinvested back into the new music community in the form of artist grants and network enhancements.
