The BC Coroners Service has identified the man found in Powell Lake in mid-April.
With the help of the RCMP, the man has been identified as Francis John Howes of Powell River.
The 51 year old was last seen alive in July of 1984, at the Powell River marina where he kept his boat.
That boat was later found tied up at his float cabin on Powell Lake.
A recreational diver found the man’s remains near the cabin at a depth of about 90 feet.
Foul play is not suspected in the man’s death.
