Affleck happy with more garbage bins along Robson Street

A City Councillor says he’s happy the City of Vancouver has listened to his calls for more garbage bins on Robson Street.
With the City now placing 12 additional bins on Robson Street, N.P.A. Councillor George Affleck says it’s the right move – he just wishes he could affect change at Council rather than through speaking with reporters.

“Well it’s disappointing that the way things get done at city hall now seem to be when I go to the media and complain about it because I can’t get heard at city hall as a counciller, and I have to go to the media to complain so that things get done. That’s not the best and most ideal way for things at city hall to be done but it seems to the way it’s working for now.”

Affleck spoke with CKNW in July, suggesting there should be more bins in Yaletown, the Olympic Village and along Robson Street.
