BC’s Finance Minister is wading into the brewing fight between BC and Alberta over the Northern Gateway Oil Pipeline.
Kevin Falcon says BC’s demand for more revenue isn’t unlike what other Provinces have done, “Look at what has happened with, you know, Danny Williams in the past, in terms of negotiating with the Feds for some benefits in offshore drilling. Look at what’s happened with Quebec over multiple examples. I haven’t got enough time to go through. We are just simply being honest with everyone and saying look, this is not going to fly in British Columbia unless you address those five minimum standards.”
Falcon says he understands both Alberta and the Federal Government’s positions. But he says, the truth is, they also both get most of the benefits.
