Busy night for Surrey fire crews

Surrey Firefighters are catching their breath.

They were called to no fewer than four structure fires last night and early this morning.

Battallion Chief Richard McPhee says two of the fires damaged basement suites, another tore through a trailer home while the final blaze was the most destructive,  “It has severe damage to the external side of the house, as well as half of the roof was damaged as well.  That was in the 8400 block 155A Street.”

How those four fires started has not been determined.

There were no serious injuries, but several families are homeless.
