Police say two of the major Canada Day celebrations in the Lower Mainland were peaceful.
Vancouver Constable Lindsey Houghton says at the fireworks that capped off the day-long celebrations at Canada Place, was an overwhelming number of families.
Houghton says there were no major incidents.
In terms of public drinking?
“Officers have all commented they’ve seen a little bit less than they have in past years but we’re still catching a few people who either are visitors to the area and may not know, or some locals who should know better.”
It was a similar story at the Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale.

“Minimal disturbance. There was some liquor seized but there was only one arrest during the evening.”
