Burnaby city workers are dropping the water level in the main pond in Central Park.
This in the ongoing effort to locate a snakehead fish — first spotted on May 13th.
“We’re going to drain the level two or three more feet to try and concentrate fish in a smaller area to assist them with the operation. Hopefully that will result in them identifying and assessing if the fish is there and catching it.”
Burnaby parks director Dave Ellenwood says Ministry of Environment staff will arrive at the pond on Friday.
