Distracted driving…fines not sinking in?

Two years after the bc government made it illegal to use hand-held technology while driving, lower mainland police are worried the message isn’t sinking in.

RCMP superintendent Norm Gaumont says more than 44-hundred tickets were issued last month to distracted drivers caught between Boston Bar and Pemberton…almost double the numbers for February of last year.

The fine is now 167 dollars.
