BC NDP leader Adrian Dix says it’s a positive the government has come to a tentative deal with the BC Government and Service Employees’ Union.
“It’s always good when agreements are negotiated and I think it shows in all negotiations it takes two to negotiate and it’s always a good thing when things are resolved at the bargaining table.”
Dix says he’s also pleased with the government’s decision to pull a u-turn over plans to privatize liquor distribution in the province.
Adrian Dix says the current formula is better for the long term.
“I’m very pleased that the government was forced to back down on the liquor distribution branch sale. It’s something our critic Shane Simpson and Maurine Karagianis have been working very hard on over the last number of months. The government seemed determined to sell off the future to try and get themselves re-elected.”
