Enbridge wins support of Gitxsan chiefs

VANCOUVER – The controversial Northern Gateway pipeline that would connect Alberta’s oilsands with the B.C. coast has won the support of one of the First Nations that controls some of the territory it would cross. Chief Elmer Derrick says the Gitxsan hereditary chiefs have decided to partner with Enbridge in the proposed $ 5.5-billion project, which would increase energy exports to the Pacific Rim region.
