Firefighter band official facing charges

A former member of the Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services band has been charged with a number of criminal offences in relation to the alleged misappropri­ation of $ 150,000 from the band’s account.

Jason William Davidson has been charged with one count of fraud over $ 5,000, one count of theft over $ 5,000 and uttering a forged document.

The charges follow a lengthy investigation by the Vancouver police financial crime unit into the band’s finances.

Davidson served as band treasurer from Feb. 2003 until Oct. 2008.

He is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Vancouver on March 5.
