Flood threat eases in Prince George

Flood fears are easing around Prince George, after river levels peaked earlier this morning.

Dave Campbell with the River Forecast Centre says concern now shifts towards the Upper Columbia and Shuswap area.

“The other biggest emerging issue is up in the northern part of the province. The Liard River has been showing pretty rapid rises over the past couple of days, and it’s quite high right now.”

A high streamflow advisory has also been issued for the Fraser River, although Campbell isn’t expecting any flooding problems.
