Guilty plea, guilty verdict in two Metro Vancouver homicides

The boyfriend of a 40-year-old woman whose body was found dumped in a North Vancouver park last year has pleaded guilty in her death.

Jennifer Ferguson of Surrey was reported missing on Jan. 22, 2011.

Four days later, her body was found wrapped in plastic in Lynn Valley’s Kirkstone Park.

Homicide investigators later determined she had been killed in Surrey.

Her boyfriend, 48-year-old Harvey Bracken, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver. His sentencing hearing is set for June 19.

Meanwhile, the integrated homicide team says a murder file from last year has ended in court with a guilty verdict.

Yacine Zouaoui was convicted of second-degree murder in the March 2011 stabbing death of Zsolt Csikos.

He was fatally knifed outside his apartment building in Burnaby.

Sentencing for Zouaoui is set for July 4.
