They have been applauded for their bravery, compassion and selflessness.
The citizens who rushed out to a plane crash on a Richmond road last fall have been celebrated at an awards night for first responders.
One of them is Shawn Nagurny.
He remembers seeing the plane go down on October 27th and hurrying out of his office to help pull the passengers out safely, “To see all the other people that were helping out sort of makes you feel good that everybody will be there to kind of watch your back in the long run of things, right?
The seven passengers survived, but the two pilots later died from severe burns in hospital.
