I-I-O clears cops in 3 recent cases

BC’s Independent Investigations Office has cleared police of any wrongdoing in three recent cases.

The I-I-O has found no evidence Vancouver Police did anything wrong November 13th — when they encountered a man who threatened to hurt himself with a knife — and used a taser to subdue him.

The I-I-O says the man then hurt himself, was taken to hospital but died.

The I-I-O found no fault with Surrey mounties in a case from December 27th, in which a 72-year-old man crashed his car into a police vehicle and died in hospital four days later.

The investigation’s revealed the Mountie had the green light.

The I-I-O has also cleared surrey RCMP in a December 21st traffic stop, in which a 42-year old man shot himself after being pulled over.
