John furlong has been named the executive chair of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
The former head of the Vancouver Olympic organizing committee assumes the new role immediately.
As executive chair he will be the most senior member of the soccer club’s executive team that includes president bob Lenarduzzi and chief operating officer Rachel Lewis.
