Mayors make friendly Grey Cup bet

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson has agreed to stand at a major intersection in Winnipeg wearing a Blue Bombers jersey if the Leos fail to win the Grey Cup Sunday in Vancouver.

According to a press release Thursday from Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz, the two mayors have made a friendly bet that would see the losing team’s mayor wear the other’s jersey at a major city intersection and declare them No. 1.

“I know Winnipeggers will be happy to give Mayor Robertson a very warm welcome as they pass him on Portage and Main sporting a Bomber jersey,” said Katz, in the statement.

The bet also includes a $ 360 donation to youth sports and a basket of local goods.
