RICHMOND, B.C. – MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX:MDA) said Tuesday it has signed US$ 7.6 million in contracts with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the agency’s systems.
MDA is working on the FAA’s instrument procedure development system, which allows the agency and the U.S. Department of Defence to design terminal area flight routes to improve terminal airspace usage and cut fuel use.
The Vancouver-area company, best know for the robotic system used by the International Space System, a successor to the Canadarm, also collects data gathered by satellites and sells related information services to its customers.
